On January 19, 2008 an information day on archival matters was held in Hamburg, Germany. The information day was organized by the working group of the Estonian archives abroad and the Academic Society of Hamburg Estonians, a member of the Estonian Society in the Federal Republic of Germany.

Call for papers! BAAC Riga Seminar 2008 “Transformation as Stability: Audiovisual Archives in the Era of New Media” in Tartu, Estonia

„The one who evolves, endures.“ J. Rainis BAAC annual conference (known already as Riga Seminar) this year takes place September 24-27 2008 in Tartu, the historical university town in the southern Estonia. The conference will be hosted by the Estonian Literary Museum and the Estonian National Museum.

Web Exhibition “Following the Trail of Estonians in Samara”

Samara became the first Estonian and Livonian emigrants’ land of heart’s desire where easy labour and bountiful yields were reportedly awaiting. In the second half of the 19th century several Estonian settlements were established in the region. At the beginning of the 21st century Anu Korb and Tiit Joala travelled on the trail of the Estonian settlers.
