At the end of February 2018 a joint photo exhibit “Two Edges of a Lifespan” opened at Tartu College. The first half of the exhibit by Canadian-Estonian photographer Kristen Dobbin featured photos of children celebrating the Estonian summer camp Jõekääru’s 50th anniversary. The other half of the exhibit by Estonian photographer Toomas Volkmann featured Estonians living in Canada whose year of birth is around the same year that Estonia achieved independence in 1918. The exhibit was on display until May 2018 and was part of the official program for the Scotiabank Contact Photography Festival.
During Estonian Music Week at the end of May 2018, two new exhibits were opened at Tartu College. Both exhibits feature Arvo Pärt: Tõnu Tormis’ photo exhibit titled “On Pärt” and the Estonian Theatre and Music Museum in collaboration with the Arvo Pärt Centre’s exhibit titled “Arvo Pärt – Renowned and Unknown.” The latter exhibit was also on display at Koerner Hall in Toronto on May 26, 2018 during the Vox Clamantis and Maarja Nuut & HH concert, which was part of both Estonian Music Week and the Royal Conservatory of Music’s 21C Festival. The exhibits will be on display throughout the summer until September 2018.
