At the end of October, Tartu University’s Centennial Anniversary as an Estonian language university was celebrated in Toronto. A high-level delegation from Tartu University visited the University of Toronto and Tartu College. This delegation consisted of the Rector of Tartu University, Prof. Toomas Asser, and four distinguished Estonian scholars who gave lectures at the University of Toronto on the following topics: Dr. Aigi Rahi-Tamm “Bringing War into Everyday: Re-education of Society in Postwar Soviet Estonia,” Dr. Mihkel Solvak “Internet Voting in Estonia,” Prof. Margit Sutrop “Should We Trust Artificial Intelligence?,” Dr. Mait Metspalu „Digging Genomes for Propelling Medicine and Understanding Our Past.”

On Friday, October 25, Tartu College hosted a reception for the 100th anniversary celebration where the Rector of Tartu University gave a speech and the local academic mixed choir Ööbik performed.
